My property is rocky, will that be a problem?
Absolutely not, building fence in the hill country means working in rock. Our auger is capable of drilling five feet deep in solid rock. What this means to you is that your posts are deep in the ground adding strength to you fence. Shallow fence posts mean a weak fence that will not stand the test of time.
How far apart should my posts be?
This depends on the type of fence you are wanting to build and what you will be keeping in (or out). A general rule is no more than 10 feet, and depending on the situation sometimes less.
How deep should my posts be in the ground?
General rule is 3 feet, again this depends on what type of fence you are wanting to build and what the ground is like in your area. Remember shallow fence posts mean a weak fence that will not stand the test of time.
If I want a pipe fence how thick should the pipe be?
The most common size pipe used on pipe fencing is schedule 40, 2 3/8 inch outside diameter pipe. The thickness of the pipe should be should be about 0.154 of an inch or expressed in a fraction about 5/32 of an inch.
